Can I Upload Photos From iCloud, Google Photos or a Shared Album?

Yes. You can upload photos to your GUESTPIX gallery from iCloud, Google Photos, or any photo storage app on your device. Here is how to do it on the most common devices.


Uploading from iCloud on iPhone

When you tap the upload button in your GUESTPIX gallery, your iPhone will open your photo library. Photos stored in iCloud need to download to your device before they can be uploaded. If you see a small loading icon or a low-resolution preview next to a photo, it means iCloud is still downloading the full-resolution version.


To avoid delays:

1.     Open your iPhone Settings and go to Photos

2.     Select 'Download and Keep Originals' instead of 'Optimise iPhone Storage'

3.     Wait for your photos to finish downloading, then return to the GUESTPIX gallery and upload


If you see a delay after tapping the blue tick to upload, this is normal, your device is syncing the full-resolution file from iCloud before sending it to GUESTPIX. Give it a moment and the upload will complete.


Uploading from Google Photos on Android

When you tap upload in your GUESTPIX gallery, select your photos from your Google Photos library as you normally would. If a photo is stored only in the cloud and not on your device, Google Photos will download it first before uploading. Allow a few extra moments for this to complete.


Uploading from a shared album

If your photos are in a shared album (such as a shared iCloud album or Google Photos shared album), you can upload them directly by selecting them from the shared album within your photo library when prompted. The process is the same as uploading from your camera roll.


Tips for a smooth upload

•       Make sure you have a good internet connection - photos and videos are large files and need a reliable Wi-Fi or mobile data connection

•       Upload in smaller batches if you are sending a large number of photos at once

•       Do not use Facebook, Instagram, or incognito browsers - use Chrome, Safari, or Edge

•       Allow your device a moment to sync files from cloud storage before selecting them to upload
